University announces next stage of public consultation on North West Cambridge
Date: 26/10/2009

The University of Cambridge is to hold a further round of public consultation to help refine its Master Plan for its North West Cambridge site.

Two public exhibitions will be held at:

Fitzwilliam College on Wednesday 18th November between 9.00am and 5.30pm

Cambridge Central Library Conference room (above the Grand Arcade) on Saturday 21 November between 10.00am and 6.00pm

There will also be a public workshop where people can work with members of the project team to examine in detail some of the key issues. This will be at Fitzwilliam College on Wednesday 18th November between 5.30pm and 8.30 pm.

Roger Taylor, North West Cambridge Project Director, said "the University is committed to working with its neighbours and local communities to create the best possible extension to our city. Our development must not only provide for the University's needs, but also enhance and support those communities by providing new facilities for people already living in the area, as well as for future residents."

"Getting the Master Plan right is the key to creating a new community that works well locally", he continued. "The Master Plan needs to be firm in establishing the concept of quality and yet flexible enough to accommodate the development needs of the University over the next 20 years".

The dedicated project website www.nwcambridge.co.uk will also contain all the exhibition material with opportunities to make suggestions and comments.
