The University of Cambridge has ambitious plans for its North West Cambridge site to help it retain its position as one of the world’s finest universities. But in order to create a masterplan that meets the needs and high standards of such a development, we are keen to involve all of the local communities, stakeholders and the public to ensure that the new community integrates seamlessly with its neighbours.
To ensure open communication with interested residents the University held two further public consultation events in the summer. On Tuesday 29th June stakeholder and public exhibition sessions were held at the Murray Edwards Centre in Huntingdon Road, with another public exhibition at the University Centre in Mill Lane on Saturday 3rd July. The purpose of these events was to outline how the masterplan has responded to key issues raised during earlier consultations and to establish community views on the emerging proposals.
North West Cambridge Project Director, Roger Taylor, commented: "We had some excellent feedback from stakeholders and members of the public who attended these sessions. The consultation has allowed us to refresh the principles and parameters of the masterplan and identify any outstanding concerns. Our next steps are to ensure that we maintain this key dialogue which is so valuable in defining the future of this project."
