The North West Cambridge Development has opportunities for local retailers to support and be part of Eddington, Cambridge’s newest district.
The first phase of the North West Cambridge Development creates and supports the start of a new residential community at Eddington. The first phase comprises 700 homes for key University staff, a post-graduate student complex for 325 students, and facilities to support the local community, including the community centre, primary school, supermarket, shops, parklands, play areas and sports fields, as well as infrastructure to support connectivity for the development.
The market square already includes a Sainsbury’s supermarket with space for retailers, homes, school and community centre. The facilities are in place to support the future community of 8500 people.
Opportunities exist for retailers, in particular local independent traders or small chains, to be part of the new community of Eddington.
Heather Topel, Project Director for the North West Cambridge Development, said: "Having a broad selection of businesses and retailers is an essential part of building any new community. The population at Eddington is growing fast, and we are looking forward to welcoming retailers to the market square to support the community and create a vibrant new neighbourhood in Cambridge."
Interested proprietors should demonstrate a strong and existing trading record, and be keen to support the growing community.
Opportunities exist for retailers to rent commercial space in the market square which have permission for A1, A3 and A4 use.
