Local businesses will benefit enormously from the North West Cambridge development. A pool of highly skilled workers will remain in the city as a result of the new housing and services that will be provided.

The research capabilities of the site will include 100,000m2 of research space. Sixty percent of this will be for University research and the rest will be use by the private sector including, it is hoped, many local companies. The continual growth in knowledge creation and knowledge transfer from the University to local businesses will enhance the entrepreneurial activity in Cambridge providing local economic uplift and creating new jobs.

Existing local businesses will have the benefit of more people moving into the area to use their goods and services.
